Honda released a hybrid version of the Civic, the Honda Civic Hybrid, in 2002 to take over the market niche left by the two seater Insight. Because of their low CO2 emissions, cars registered in the UK after 2001 were exempt from road tax. The 2002 Insight otherwise continued the first generation, with its 1.0 liter three cylinder engine of 67 hp assisted by a 10 kW electric motor. The sources used for this page record no change specific to the 2002 model year.
