The 2016 Honda HR-V was the first North American model year, shared with the third generation Fit and largely identical to the Vezel, smaller than both the CR-V and the Pilot, which again gave Honda a model range of three crossover SUVs. In Taiwan the HR-V was introduced in October 2016, and in Malaysia all variants were updated in May 2016 with 17 inch alloy wheels replacing 16 inch. Mugen body kits were added in Indonesia in 2016.
