In 2005 the Honda Element LX received revised front seats with an armrest for the passenger, and Honda eliminated the DX model. The EX model gained XM satellite radio and MP3 capability as standard in the audio system, a 5 speed manual transmission was standard, and the charcoal gray plastic was darkened, with navy blue offered alongside Satin Silver Metallic paint. Hub caps on the LX were redesigned to cover the whole wheel. Fuel economy was officially 19 miles per US gallon city, 23 highway and 20 combined.
