The sixth-generation Honda Civic was produced from 1995 until 2000 and kept the three-door hatchback, four-door sedan and two-door coupe lineup of its predecessor. It offered two new 1.6 litre four-cylinder engines and a continuously variable transmission on the HX, and it was the last Civic with front double-wishbone suspension. It was the first generation for which Honda made a dedicated European version, and it spawned the Japan-only Civic Type R in 1997. A facelift arrived for the 1999 model year, and the Si returned the same year. Each model year, 1996 to 2000, has its own page.
