Honda produced the seventh-generation Civic from 2000 to 2005, showing it in September 2000 as a 2001 model. Its exterior size stayed close to the sixth generation while interior space grew markedly, helped by a flat rear floor, and it replaced the front double-wishbone suspension with MacPherson struts. It was the last Civic offered with four-wheel drive, and at its debut it took the Car of the Year Japan Award, a fourth win that no other car had matched. The Civic Hybrid reached North America as a 2003 model, and a facelift followed for 2004. Each model year, 2001 to 2005, has its own page.
