Honda City (third generation)

Automobiles

Honda brought back the City as a subcompact four door sedan, the first sedan City, for developing markets in Asia, placed beneath the Civic; this third generation had the code SX8 and chassis codes 3A2 for the 1.3 liter and 3A3 for the 1.5 liter, and used the EF Civic platform to save cost. Honda designed it for the Southeast Asian market alone and sold it only there, and the first cars came off the line in April 1996 at an entirely new plant in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The sedan also marked Honda's entrance in the Indian market in 1998. A revised, facelifted third generation City was released in 2000. Each model year has its own page.
