Honda launched the first-generation Brio, chassis DD1 and DD2, in 2011 as a hatchback sitting one class below the Fit and Jazz. Honda designed it for emerging markets, among them Thailand and India, where the first cars were made, and previewed it as the New Small Concept, which was first displayed at the 2010 Thailand International Motor Expo. It is powered by either a 1.2 liter L12B3 SOHC i-VTEC four cylinder petrol engine or a 1.3 liter L13Z1, with a 5 speed manual, a 5 speed torque converter automatic or a CVT. Each model year has its own page.
