The second generation Ballade from 1985 had most of its body panels in common with the Civic, apart from a sportier front end, and provided the basis for the CR-X sports car and the Rover 200. The EX-i, the top model, had a 1.5L engine in aluminium with 12 valves, natural aspiration and multi-point fuel injection from Honda's PGM-FI system, making 100 bhp, the same engine as in the CR-X. The Concerto replaced the Ballade in Japan in September 1987. Each model year has its own page.
