Honda Ascot (second generation)

Automobiles

The second generation Honda Ascot (CE4 and CE5) was given its own platform, a platform improvement of the previous generation, because the larger Accord had become too wide to fit within the favorable Japanese tax class. Like the Inspire, Vigor and Legend it had its engine mounted longitudinally, using the 5-cylinder inline Honda G engine in 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre versions, and it had a sloping appearance resembling a coupe. Its sister car, the Honda Rafaga, was introduced in October 1993, and both models were replaced by the Honda Torneo in 1997. The article used for this page does not give a separate launch date for the second generation Ascot itself. Each model year has its own page.
