Honda added the two door coupe body, with a longer and sportier front end, to the 1300 line in February 1970, as the Coupe7 and the Coupe9, with the same trim levels as the 77 and 99 sedans. A 3-speed automatic transmission was added as an option a month later, exclusively for the 77 sedan and Coupe7. Honda refreshed the 77 sedan in November 1970 with a new front end with round headlights and new taillights, and dropped the four carburettor 99 sedan and the 1300 name.
