In early 1968 a Series 70 engine option, equivalent to the 90 option for the British Vauxhall Viva, was added to the HB Torana. In September 1968 the 69 Torana was released, sometimes called the HB Series II. The HB Torana continued until late 1969, a facelifted Vauxhall Viva sold by Holden in Australia with the Torana name, whose name apparently comes from a word meaning to fly. The 1968 Torana was the second year of the HB series.
