Automobiles

A 1972 model year two door base Monaro was used in the film Mad Max as the MFP Pursuit Special driven by the Nightrider during the film's opening chase scene. The HQ series brought the new body design of July 1971, with the Monaro LS, and the top level GTS350 coupe was equipped with an imported 5.7 liter Chevrolet motor. In mid 1972 Holden released a limited edition of the HQ Belmont named SS. The film car was a Monaro from the HQ series.
