The Daihatsu Leeza is a kei car with semi-coupe styling manufactured by Daihatsu. It was launched in Japan in December 1986 and discontinued in August 1993, after it had been largely replaced by the Opti in 1992. Although it had coupe lines, most of the Leezas sold in Japan were technically commercial vehicles. In late 1987 a limited edition called Cha Cha was introduced, aimed at women around the age of 30 and available only in black with discreet red pinstripes and with standard air conditioning. Kei car regulations changed in March 1990, and the tax advantages for such commercial vehicles had shrunk so far that the updated Leeza was sold only as a passenger car, which limited its market.
