In late 2008 the coated Diesel Particulate Filter was introduced as an option on all Transit diesel engines, designed to meet higher standards than the Euro IV requirement, and the six speed transaxle was added to the mid power front wheel drive when its 110 PS engine was raised to 115 PS. In China Ford commenced sales of the V347 and V348 Transit in 2008 alongside the Jiangling built version, branded the New Transit, with the older van the Transit Classic.
