For the 2019 model year the Transit Connect had a mid life update with a revised front fascia and a redesigned dashboard, and the 2.5 litre engine was replaced by a 2.0 litre direct injection four, though the 2.5 litre stayed as an option for gas conversion. The conversion process was also revised. It sat between the Transit Courier and the Transit Custom in the Ford Transit range. The Transit Connect was Ford's compact panel van, developed by Ford of Europe as a dedicated commercial vehicle.
