For 1966 the 390 cubic inch V8 was raised to 315 horsepower, and a 428 cubic inch V8 of 345 horsepower became optional, cutting zero to sixty times to about nine seconds. All models had a new front clip with a flatter hood, reshaped front fenders and an egg crate grille. A new Town Sedan was offered with blind rear quarter panels for a formal look, and with the Landau trim it became by far the best seller.
