The restyled 1964 Thunderbird was offered as a hardtop, a convertible and a Landau with vinyl roof, simulated landau irons and wood grain interior trim, and the Sports Roadster was dropped, though a dealer installed tonneau cover and wire wheel option remained available. A 390 cubic inch V8 of 300 horsepower was standard. Total 1964 sales were excellent at 92,465 units, up nearly fifty percent from 1963.
