For 2005 the Ranger Tremor was deleted and the STX returned. The Ranger Edge was repackaged as the Ranger Sport for 2006 as Ford shifted the Edge nameplate to a mid size crossover SUV, and the Sport was produced through the 2012 model year. The Ranger was no longer the best selling compact truck in the United States after the 2004 model year, during which it still topped the segment. The 2005 Ranger was built at the Twin Cities Assembly Plant in St Paul, Minnesota.
