After a ten year run Ford introduced the second generation Ranger for the 1993 model year, with much of its chassis carried over. The Ranger Splash, with a FlareSide bed, was introduced for the 1993 model year as a sub model, and production was also sourced from Edison Assembly in New Jersey from 1993 to 2004. The dashboard was nearly carryover from the 1989 to 1992 model years. The Ranger was produced at the Louisville and Twin Cities plants, with Edison Assembly joining from 1993.
