The 1940 Prefect continued the E93A built at Dagenham, with most body styles two and four door saloons, though pre war a few tourers and drophead coupes were made. In Australia the E03A, which replaced the E93A in 1939, was built from 1939 to 1945. The Prefect had windscreen wipers powered by vacuum ported from the engine intake manifold, and a 1,172 cc side valve engine. The Prefect was an upmarket version of the Ford Anglia, built by Ford UK.
