1984 Ford Orion

Automobiles

A lower specification L model of the Orion was introduced in 1984, as was the option of a 1.6 diesel engine on L and GL models. In the United Kingdom the Orion was among the top 10 best selling cars every year from 1984 to 1990. The Orion Ghia 1.6i had central locking, sunroof, sport front seats, electric windows, rear head restraints and a tachometer, features which were rare on a small family car in the 1980s. The Orion was a four door saloon based on the Ford Escort hatchback, with a separate boot.
