The facelifted Mondeo was revealed on 18 January 2019 as a 2020 model, making its public debut at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium. It carried a revised lower grille in gloss black among other changes. The fourth generation was by now a car being squeezed by the market shift to crossovers and SUVs, with Ford Europe soon to decide to stop it, even as the car was a rebadged variant of the American Fusion sold in Europe, Latin America, China and Australia.
