1993 Ford Mondeo

Automobiles

The first Mondeo went on sale on 22 March 1993, after its introduction on 23 November 1992. It was designed as a world car to replace the Sierra in Europe, the Telstar in a large part of Asia and, as the Contour and Mystique, the Tempo and Topaz in North America, though in the end only a few exterior parts were shared with the Contour. A factory or dealer RS body kit, with extra bumper styling and a boot spoiler, was offered from 1993 to 1995, and the 1.8 liter Ultima special edition appeared.
