In February 2012 the Mexican sedan Ikon was retired from the range, after it had been sold there since 2010 alongside the Ikon Hatch. The Ikon Hatch was imported from India, where the car is the Figo, and it was a redesigned version of the fifth generation Fiesta. The Ikon was a small Ford sedan built on the Fiesta platform for markets where buyers wanted a sedan, such as India and South Africa. Ford sold the same basic design under the Fiesta and Ikon names depending on the country.
