By 2006 the better equipped Flair version of the Ikon had power steering, electric windows, air conditioning, central locking, a tachometer and side impact beams. A seven seat estate had been dropped, and the car was still built at Chennai on the fourth generation Fiesta platform. The Ikon was a small Ford sedan built on the Fiesta platform for markets where buyers wanted a sedan, such as India and South Africa. Ford sold the same basic design under the Fiesta and Ikon names depending on the country.
