In September 2004 Ford introduced the sedan version of the fifth generation Fiesta in Brazil, sold across Latin America as the Fiesta Sedan. The Indian built first generation Ikon continued in 2004 as a 1.3 litre or 1.6 litre petrol or 1.8 litre diesel sedan, a market tailored car. The Ikon was a small Ford sedan built on the Fiesta platform for markets where buyers wanted a sedan, such as India and South Africa. Ford sold the same basic design under the Fiesta and Ikon names depending on the country.
