In late 2021 Ford stopped selling standard petrol and diesel versions of the Galaxy and offered it with only one engine, a 2.5 litre hybrid Duratec producing 190 PS with a Durashift continuously variable transmission, ahead of the model's withdrawal. It was slotted between the Tourneo Connect and the Tourneo Custom in the Ford range, and was the first Ford brand people carrier made outside North America. The Galaxy was a seven seat people carrier that Ford built for the European market, sharing its platform with the Mondeo in its later forms.
