In 2014 the S-Max was presented at the Paris Motor Show, and the all new Galaxy that followed it was announced to go on sale the next year. The second generation Galaxy carried on until then at Genk with its Ford only engines. The Galaxy was a seven seat people carrier that Ford built for the European market, sharing its platform with the Mondeo in its later forms. It was slotted between the Tourneo Connect and the Tourneo Custom in the Ford range, and was the first Ford brand people carrier made outside North America.
