The Galaxy of 2013 had seats in its second and third rows that folded flat into the floor, a feature it shared with the S-Max, although that design reduced the car's load carrying capacity. Top Gear reviewed it too and gave it seven marks out of ten. It was slotted between the Tourneo Connect and the Tourneo Custom in the Ford range, and was the first Ford brand people carrier made outside North America. The Galaxy was a seven seat people carrier that Ford built for the European market, sharing its platform with the Mondeo in its later forms.
