2020 was the final model year for the Fusion in North America, effectively ending what was left of Ford's four door car lineup there. The nameplate had been used from the 2006 through 2020 model years across two generations, with gasoline, gas electric hybrid and plug in hybrid variants, built at Hermosillo, Mexico alongside the Lincoln MKZ. Ford shifted to pickups, crossovers, SUVs and the Mustang.
