For 2014 a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine replaced the earlier 1.6 liter turbocharged four cylinder option because of China's much lower tax rate on cars with a displacement below 1500 cc. The Fusion Energi plug in hybrid was offered in SE and Titanium trims, and the Fusion shared the CD4 platform with the Mondeo, for which Ford had delayed the European launch to late autumn 2014. The Hybrid was offered in the same three trims as the gasoline car.
