By 2001 the only Festiva still sold was the third generation Festiva Mini Wagon in Japan, a single five door hatchback with a 1.3 or 1.5 litre engine and three speed, four speed automatic or five speed manual transmission, which was a badge engineered Mazda Demio. The Festiva was a small Mazda designed hatchback that Ford sold in several markets, some of them under other names. Kia in South Korea built most of the cars sold under the Festiva and Aspire names, and sold the same design as the Pride and the Avella.
