In 1997 the Festiva was given a new front bumper with an oval grille, reshaped headlamps and other small changes, and the Aspire was dropped from the Ford range in the United States after that model year. The car remained on sale in Australia and several other markets. The Festiva was a small Mazda designed hatchback that Ford sold in several markets, some of them under other names. Kia in South Korea built most of the cars sold under the Festiva and Aspire names, and sold the same design as the Pride and the Avella.
