For 2018 the F-150 underwent a mid cycle revision, adopting several design features from the Super Duty, with the trapezoidal grille replaced by an octagonal one and a wide two bar configuration in place of three bars. To comply with 2018 federal safety standards all F-150s received a standard rearview backup camera. Sync was updated to Sync 3, and three new engines arrived, including a 3.3 liter V6 replacing the naturally aspirated 3.5. In September Ford recalled about 2 million trucks.
