For the 2025 model year the Explorer's previous eight trim levels were reduced to four, the Active, replacing the XLT, plus the ST-Line, ST and Platinum, with the facelift's redesigned grille, lights and interior. For 2026 the trim count increased to six, with the Tremor replacing the Timberline. The sixth generation was by then built at Chicago alongside the Lincoln Aviator and the Police Interceptor Utility.
