In June 2026 Ford issued a recall order of over 741,000 vehicles, including the Expedition, in the United States. The fifth generation Expedition is the full size SUV Ford has produced since the 1997 model year, with the Ford Digital Experience first seen on the 2025 Explorer. It stays in the lineup beside the Lincoln Navigator, the first full size luxury SUV, with which it shares its platform. The Expedition is a competitor of the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Jeep Wagoneer.
