In Mexico sales of the EcoSport for the refreshed model year 2008 continued to worsen due in part to a price increase, with only 6,345 units of model year 2008 sold. The restyled front brought the EcoSport closer to then current Ford pickups, and the interior used a new dashboard with better quality materials. Production continued in Brazil at the Camacari plant. The EcoSport was a subcompact crossover SUV from Ford Brazil, built at the Camacari plant and based on the Ford B3 platform shared with the Fiesta.
