In 2005 the first generation EcoSport continued to be built in Brazil by Ford Brazil at Camacari, with a choice of five straight four engines, front wheel drive with manual transmission as standard, and a 2.0 litre model that could also receive a four speed automatic or four wheel drive. In Mexico the reception continued until 2006. The 2.0 litre Duratec engine produced 145 PS. Its main competitors were the Fiat Palio Adventure and Volkswagen CrossFox.
