For 2008 Ford ended retail sales of the Crown Victoria in the United States, removing the model from its website and replacing it with the newly revived Ford Taurus. Fleet sales continued with the Police Interceptor and the commercial taxi and long wheelbase versions. In a minor change for 2008 the valve covers were redesigned and Flex Fuel capability became standard. A 2008 Special Edition was sold in the Middle East.
