2003 Ford Crown Victoria

Automobiles

For 2003 the Panther platform was re-engineered for the first time since its 1979 introduction, with a new fully boxed, hydroformed frame and an aluminum cross-member that raised torsional rigidity by 24 percent. The 4.6 liter V8 got revised tuning and a knock sensor, giving 224 horsepower or 239 on dual exhaust models. Mid year, Ford began a series of cost cutting deletions on all Panther cars, removing items such as the remote locking fuel door and the body color mirror caps.
