The Corcel II of the 1978 model year had a completely redesigned body with straight lines, and the resulting two door sedan was a fastback with long and heavy doors. It used the same 1.4 litre four cylinder as the first Corcel, rated at 54 horsepower DIN in the base, Luxo and LDO versions. The Corcel was a front wheel drive family car that Ford sold in Brazil and neighbouring countries, built on Renault underpinnings. Ford do Brasil gained the design when it bought Willys do Brasil in 1967.
