The first Corcel, the Corcel I, was a pony car styled front wheel drive sedan that debuted in São Paulo in 1968, with a coupe in 1969, a wagon called the Belina, an L version and a more powerful GT in 1971. It was facelifted in 1973 and again in 1975 and had a 1.3 then 1.4 litre engine from Renault origins. Its model years run from 1968 to 1977. The Corcel was a front wheel drive family car that Ford sold in Brazil and neighbouring countries, built on Renault underpinnings.
