The facelifted Corcel I, sometimes called the Mark 1.5, arrived in 1973 with a more aggressive look than the conservative 1968 original. The regular Corcel claimed 75 horsepower and the GT with its double barrel carburettor 85 horsepower, from an engine bored out to 1.4 litres. Ford do Brasil gained the design when it bought Willys do Brasil in 1967. The Corcel was a front wheel drive family car that Ford sold in Brazil and neighbouring countries, built on Renault underpinnings.
