For 1972, in line with the F-Series trucks, the Ranger trim became the top of the line Bronco, with body stripes, model specific wheel covers, cloth seats, woodgrain door panels and a carpeted interior. After 1972 the Bronco half cab pickup was withdrawn, because of its lower sales compared with the wagon and Ford's introduction of the larger Courier compact pickup. The Bronco was still a 92 inch wheelbase four wheel drive vehicle.
