Production of the Presso ended together with the AZ-3 in March 1998, after which only distribution stock was sold, and sales ended in June 1998 when the stock was sold out. There was no successor, and the second generation Roadster, a small open car, was a virtual substitute. A total of 220,064 had been made, counting the AZ-3, in the model code EC5 and EC8. The Presso was sold abroad as the Mazda MX-3, as the MX-3 Precidia in Canada and as the Eunos 30X in Australia.
