The Subaru G4e is a concept electric car developed with the Tokyo utility TEPCO as a possible successor to the R1e and unveiled at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The name is meant to stand for Green for the Earth. It seats five, has a wedge design with a drag coefficient of 0.276 helped by rearview cameras in place of wing mirrors, and carries its batteries under the floor. It has a range of 200 kilometres, charges fully in about eight hours from a home AC supply or to 80 percent in 15 minutes, and its lithium-ion battery uses vanadium technology developed exclusively by Subaru to store two to three times more lithium ions than a conventional cell.
