A minor change in October 1995 lengthened the front bumper and the overall length by 200 mm, changed the front grille and headlights and redesigned the instrument panel, and the rear door windows were made to open. The grade range grew to include an eight seat 2-3-3 layout, the first diesel, the 2.5 liter WL, and four wheel drive for the first time with the Super Dual 4WD and the raised Grants series. The first generation MPV was a minivan like car that Mazda called a new category of multipurpose luxury saloon.
