The second model year the Premier saw almost no other changes except for the addition of cruise control and the mid year introduction of an ES Limited model featuring monochromatic paint and body colored trim. The list of standard features was expanded or enhanced, such as eight premium Accusound by Jensen speakers becoming standard on ES models. During 1989 sales in the Japanese market began as the Chrysler Premier ES, with the 3.0 liter V6 engine.
