The 2001 Intrepid continued the second generation, with the SE trim replacing the base model in fleet sales through 2004, and the 2.7 liter V6 as the base engine. It was sold in Canada as the Chrysler Intrepid and was built at Brampton Assembly in Ontario. The ES, R/T and SE trims were offered, with the 3.5 liter V6 producing 242 horsepower in the R/T. It was the fourth year of the second generation.
