The sixth Coronet was a twin of the four door Plymouth Satellite, with more flowing styling, and it was offered as a sedan and wagon because the related Dodge Charger now covered the coupe market. The front grille, headlights and taillights were altered slightly in 1972, and the front and rear fascias were redesigned for 1974, most notably the rear bumper to meet the 1974 federal requirements. The sedan body was the basis of the later Coronets until the 1978 model year. Its model years run from 1971 to 1974.
